With a recent push for more electric vehicles to be used in the United States and state bans for gas vehicles set in place, more drivers are considering investing in an electric vehicle. Maryland has taken the top spot ranking number one in the nation for the best state to own an electric vehicle, the Bumper study reveals.
Multiple metrics are used to determine the rankings, from infrastructure, cost to charge a vehicle, public charging stations, and electric vehicle price tags.
The top 10 states to own an electric vehicle are as follows:
- 1. Maryland
- 2. New York
- 3. Massachusetts
- 4. Pennsylvania
- 5. Vermont
- 6. New Jersey
- 7. California
- 8. Virginia
- 9. Utah
- 10. Rhode Island
The study shows that not only is Maryland the best state overall to own an electric vehicle, but Maryland tops the charts for having the best financial incentives. Maryland also holds the top spot for the most affordable state to own an electric vehicle.
